Local events for stakeholders in Hungary

On June 21 st , 2024 Dr. Zoltán Kovács, Head of Research Strategy, International Affairs Advisor of the Institute, full professor at the Department of Food Measurements and Process Control in the Institute of Food Science and Technology at Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE) presented the “FOOD Quality in Digital Age” project as a part of the Summer Workshop of the Research Excellence Programme 2024.

Nearly 60 senior and junior researchers of the University visited Georgikon Campus in Keszthely to participate a workshop dedicated to improving the quality of academic publishing. In his presentation, Dr. Zoltán Kovács highlighted the international cooperation and exchange of experience in the field of research and agriculture, as well as the potential of digitalisation. Afterwards, the participants visited the “MATE Tanüzem Kft. Szarvasmarha telep” cattle farm, where they exchanged views with the local farm manager on the possibilities of digitalisation in dairy processing.

On July 2nd, 2024 two presentations were held in front of the Agricultural and Biotechnical Scientific Committee of Hungarian Academy of Sciences (a Magyar Tudományos Akadémia Agrár- és Bioműszaki Tudományos Bizottsága) in Budapest, Hungary. During one of them, Dr. László Friedrich, Professor, Director of the Institute of Food Science and Technology at Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences (MATE), presented the educational and research activities of the Institute, with a special emphasis on the domestic and international activities related to the digitalisation of the food industry. Afterwards, Dr. Zoltán Kovács, Head of Research Strategy, International Affairs Advisor of the Institute, Professor at the Department of Food Measurements and Process Control in the Institute of Food Science and Technology at Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE), presented in detail the national and international digitalisation cooperation, mentioning as a good example the partnership between 5 countries and its results, established in the framework of „FOOD Quality in Digital Age” project.

Visegrad Grants Fund-Food Quality in Digital Age-2023

The project is co-financed by the Governments of Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
